Tina Turner Gives Fans an Intimate Look Into Her Life in the Teaser Trailer For Her HBO Doc

Tina Turner's life is getting the HBO treatment! On Feb. 23, the network released a first look at the upcoming Tina documentary, which will centre on the 81-year-old legend's childhood and decades-long career. Tina is set to be released on March 27 and will feature never-before-seen footage, audio tapes, and personal photos, as well as interviews from Angela Bassett, Oprah Winfrey, journalist Kurt Loder, playwright Katori Hall, and Turner's husband Erwin Bach.

In the first look, viewers get a glimpse of Turner's fractured relationship with her mother, who left her at the age of 11. "My mother used to sit in the window of the kitchen when she was making dinner on Sundays. I used to just watch her. She was just so pretty," Turner says. "One day, she wasn't in that window. She was never in it again. I wanted her to come for me. I waited and she never did. And it's alright . . . I'm a girl from a cotton field that pulled myself above the destruction and the mistakes." It also features a handful of clips of Turner throughout her career. Watch the teaser trailer above now.
