My Fuzzy Birkestocks Are the Shoes I Never Take Off

In the last two and a half years, I've made a few investments when it comes to being comfortable at home. I went from leaving the house at seven in the morning and not returning until after dinner to working remotely, creating a home workout routine, and having people over more than I go out. One of my most favourite investments has been in a quality pair of cosy, at-home shoes, and nothing comes close to the Birkenstock Arizona Genuine Shearling Lined Slide Sandal (£130). They are the comfortable, casual, everyday shoes that I literally do not take off; I was halfway to the coffee shop this morning when I realised I hadn't even put on my trainers as planned, and was on my way in my Birkenstocks. I am also someone who is, admittedly, not a typical Birkenstocks person; these are my first pair, and while I didn't get the hype before, I can say now that these will be my go-to slippers forever.

What I Like About This Birkenstock Arizona Genuine Shearling Lined Slide Sandal

There is a lot to like about these sandals. I love that they mould to my feet, and that I can just slip them on, which I do every single morning when I get out of bed. I love the way they look; I have the mink suede colour, and I think they're neutral and cool. They feel like a slipper but look like a real shoe, and that's ideal in my book. As someone who always has cold feet, I like that these don't ever make me feel chilly, even though my toes and heels are exposed. I also love that there's real traction at the sole, which helps to provide an added grip support whether you're walking around outside or indoors. For me, these are house shoes; I try not to wear outside shoes inside my home, and I needed something that I could feel good about wearing while I'm cosy inside. Although, as I previously mentioned, they're so comfortable that I sometimes forget I'm wearing them, and did in fact make it halfway to the coffee shop this morning before realising I still had them on. Hey, rules are made to be broken.

What's Worth Noting

I don't know if it's because I wear these shoes literally all the time, but the shearling does seem to get matted a bit more quickly than other shearling shoes I've worn in the past. I had my first pair for just under two years, and have only recently got a new pair. I'd love for them to stay fluffier longer, but I wear them every single day, often without socks, so it comes with the territory. Also, as with other Birkenstocks, they take a couple of days to mould to your feet, and feel a bit awkward at first. Trust the process, though, and within days, they'll be the most comfortable shoes you own.

They're supremely comfortable, mould to your feet beautifully, and have traction.
