The first thing I noticed about the JW Jason Wu new, limited-edition collection for Kohl's wasn't even the fair price range — all 16 pieces retail for $88 and are now marked down to $60. It was the fact that there's a solid mix of dresses and jumpsuits. Finally! Every year, I get psyched to shop for holiday parties, but I'm a pants girl just as often as I like a skirt, and I always appreciate more options than just one tailored suit (though, let me be clear, the co-ord Jason Wu crafted for the affordable retailer is high-quality stuff).

Here's your first look at the buzzy new line, inspired by '50s and '60s Hollywood glamour and offered in sizes XS to XXL. I got the chance to talk to Jason Wu about the items he really wants to highlight. "The holidays are a time for celebrations and feeling glamorously decadent. Details such as tiny flocked dot tulle, sculptural florals, and tiny sequins on a knit dress make the collection feel truly elevated. Although the collection has quite a festive mood, every piece has been designed so it can be worn any time of the year — I wanted the pieces to be seasonless and timeless," he told me.

Jason Wu's clothing is always sophisticated, so I shouldn't have been surprised to come across the black-and-white, halter-style jumpsuit with pooling pants and a neck sash. It's modest meets sexy; it's truly perfect, and I need it. The swingy number also comes in red — but I'm particularly fond of the monochromatic colorblock effect — though the saturated sheath dresses are great for the gal who loves being the centre of attention. It's clear that I know what I'm buying first, but you've got options ahead of you. Keep reading to see if you can make your choice before the limited-edition pieces leave stores.
