Jennifer Lopez Performs in a 3-Piece Catsuit Attached By Metal Chains
Jennifer Lopez swept the stage at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, redefining "icon" performances forever. Not only did the multi-hyphenate star hit the stage in a black cutout Fausto Puglisi for Roberto Cavalli jumpsuit, she made a grand entrance in a white "Equality" fur coat provided by Adrienne Landau. Working with her longtime stylists Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn, the team tapped the Cavalli house both for Lopez's red carpet appearance and her moment onstage.
J Lo performed hits like "On My Way" and "Get Right" in a black spandex catsuit. The look consisted of a bandeau top with a triangle collar and form-fitting pants — all three segments connected by metal hardware and complete with subtle laser cutting along the hips and chest.
Lopez wore gemstone embellished, finger-less gloves to match with her rhinestone knee pads and lace-up booties, both of which provided added sparkle to play up the decorated cane she kept by her side.
Her Adrienne Landau fur coat, with "Equality" inscribed on the train, was worn solely for her grand entrance, and likely spoke for a number of socio-political issues she wished to recognise and promote, from trans rights to support for those facing racism and injustice in Ukraine.
Lopez's fashion statement is another one of her looks that will go down in history, but in case you needed a refresher on those, Billy Porter introduced a group of drag stars as the first part of Lopez's act, all dressed in her most notable looks. They modelled everything from her iconic Versace dress at the 2000 Grammys to her Balmain Met Gala gown in 2018 that was emblazoned with a crystal cross. The runway was set in front of flashing photos from Lopez's most significant style moments, culminating with the Cavalli catsuit she wore for her performance.
