Lululemon’s Sensekit Will Revitalise Your Running Gear

When it comes to fitness gear, not all kits are created equal. Unsupportive sports bras, restrictive leggings, and uncomfortable vest tops can make a challenging run even harder. As someone who is fairly new on their running journey, and a recent Couch to 5K graduate, I have struggled to find a fit kit that helps me feel the most confident.
While I'm looking for high-compression bottoms and sleek tops to maximise workouts, they can feel too confining. Which is why I was excited to try out Lululemon's new Sensekit. Five years in the making, the fabric technology promises to provide support, movement, and breathability. Taking it for a spin at HIIT workout in London's Hyde Park, with the nation's PE teacher and Lululemon ambassador Joe Wicks, it was an ideal opportunity to see whether the kit could help push me even harder.
Choosing the lilac Sensekit Running HR Short (£98) from the collection and the Swift Ventilated Tank Top (£24, orginally £58), I felt like I could have stepped straight into a workout scene on the new "Barbie" film. Margot Robbie, eat your heart out! Slipping them on, I felt instantly comfortable. The shorts streamlined my bottom half and felt supportive, but I was still able to have a vast range of motion. They didn't ride up the more I moved, which made a welcome change. The best bit? The shorts have pockets. I cannot stress enough how much of a difference this makes, especially if I'm popping for a run and can take my debit card with me for a well-earned coffee afterwards.
The tank top was loose and breathable, with fabric that was comfortable enough to enhance my workout without making me feel self-conscious. Plus, the sweat-wicking fabric made for an all-round more comfortable workout. While the gear is not going to make me an Olympic champion anytime soon, it's clear the innovative engineering in the pieces are seamless.
