Dadditude, or the art of maximising comfort and minimizing effort, is a notion Hollister is promoting in its new "Respect the Jeans" campaign. The production features ABC sitcom "Black-ish" star (and absolute girl boss) Marsai Martin with her dad and is the first memory of them modelling together. "This was the first time me and my dad were actually together in front of the camera because we're both producers," Martin tells POPSUGAR over Zoom. "I tend to be private about my family, but it was really cool to be creative with him."

The campaign highlights the launch of a new line of dad-inspired jeans, updated wide-leg styles that convey a sense of ease and youthful energy. As someone who's had a defining influence on Martin's style, Joshua Martin being part of the project made sense. "My dad is often with me during fittings, and he always gives his input on my outfit choices," Martin confesses. And this isn't a recent thing either. Growing up, Martin could always count on her father for candid feedback on her looks, often given with lighthearted humour. "He would look at an outfit and say, 'Girl, you know these shoes don't fit right,'" Martin shares. "It used to annoy me, but to this day, I ask him for advice on certain clothes."

Jeans are timeless closet staples that Martin swears by. She likes to wear them ripped, cargo, or high waisted, and she constantly finds ways to style them. When asked about her favourite pair from the collection, she didn't hesitate: the ultra high-rise patchwork dad jeans are versatile, just as she likes them. Plus, they are comfortable, something she doesn't negotiate. As she adds, "If I'm not comfortable, I'm not wearing it."

Hollister's design team clearly kept that in mind. The styles feel modern, wearable, and versatile. And after watching the father-daughter duo wear them so well, we certainly need our own pair (starting with the patchwork dad jeans).
