If Megan Thee Stallion's bikini looks strikingly familiar, that's because the look is a design from the La'Mariette collection Selena Gomez co-designed. The singer/actress collaborated in 2021 with her best friend Theresa Mingus, who launched the brand with business partner Morgan Brutocao to highlight self love. "Morning Hotties 🍒💕," Megan captioned photos of herself soaking up the sun on the first day of spring in the Marie two-piece, which features the aura pattern that Gomez created.
Complete with adjustable string ties on the bikini bottoms, the swimsuit stayed up with the help of a few creatively placed straps that create a mesmerising criss-cross design across the back. The deep purple lava-lamp print is inspired by the colour of Gomez's aura, and was used on eight different pieces that make up her La'Mariette collaboration. Meanwhile, the entire collection is made sustainably in Los Angeles and produced solely in limited batches to minimize waste.
One-piece swimsuits and cutout swimwear will definitely be everywhere this spring and summer, but Megan's bikini moment makes for a notable update to our mood board. True to her love for maximalist nail art, Megan paired the look with a lengthy "Invader Zim"-inspired manicure. She finished the look with transparent shield sunglasses and long, black waves that reached all the way down to her knees.
We can only hope this subtle nod to Gomez's designer chops is a hint at a potential music collaboration between the two performers in the future.
