Simone Biles Wears '00s-Inspired Jersey Halter Top

Simone Biles’ ’00s-Inspired Top Is an Ode to Her Fiancé

What's it like to have Simone Biles cheering for you? Just ask her fiancé Jonathan Owens, who Biles loves to shower with support, especially through her fashion choices. On Monday night, for instance, the gymnast shared a snapshot of herself and Owens posing before a Texans game. Biles proudly displayed her team spirit by wearing his jersey number, 36, on a 2000s-inspired halter top with a cowl neck. Back in the early aughts, this popular silhouette was often referred to as a "going out top."

Appropriately enough, Biles dressed in a white and red palette (which are the Texans' team colours), right down to her shoes. On top, she wore the white draped halter top with Owens' number painted across the front. She styled the piece with white denim cutoff shorts, which have become a go-to style staple for her during the summer season. A pair of matching red-and-white Nike sneakers topped off the casual 'fit.

This latest ensemble is among the many that Biles has worn to cheer on her fiancé, who plays safety for the Texans. Last month, she posted a mirror selfie on Instagram while she was wearing a light blue tank with "36" on her chest. A few weeks prior, she dressed in a full-blown Texans cheerleader look. And just last week, Biles showed off DIY bags that she crafted with both "Owens" and "36" written in sparkly patches. Not only has the star gymnast mastered the art of date night dressing, she has also managed to consistently incorporate a little visual support for her plus-one as well.
