Summer brings up memories of polka-dot bikinis, campfires, and, most importantly, s'mores. Marshmallows toasted until the tops are just golden brown — but still hold their ooey-gooey insides — sandwiched between melted chocolate and slightly sweet graham crackers . . . I mean, that's what happiness looks like, ain't it? But, we're here to help you out if you're in search of a better-for-you marshmallow this season. Enter Smashmallows.

Four Smashmallows come out to 80 calories, whereas a four-piece serving of your standard brand equals on average 92 calories (for reference, a 2/3 cup serving of Jet-Puffed Marshmallows comes out to 100 calories). And, Smashmallows are made from organic cane sugar as opposed to corn syrup.

Not only are Smashmallows a lighter option, but they also come in fun flavours that will take you straight to Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory or your local ice cream parlor. There's Strawberries and Cream, Mint Chocolate Chip, Cookie Dough, Root Beer Float — the list goes on. Get them for $4 a pack on the Smashmallow website, or find them on Amazon and at Target. Note: I tried the newest variety, Toasted Vanilla, and it's wonderfully puffed (like a sponge) and tastes oh-so good. Ahead, check out the nutrition information for all seven flavours on the market today. Ready for Summer yet? We sure are.
