Lele Pons Opens Up About Mental Health in Docuseries Trailer

YouTuber Lele Pons' Vulnerable Docuseries Will Offer Insight Into Life With OCD

"My mind and my body shut down because of my OCD," says Lele Pons in the vulnerable trailer for her forthcoming documentary series, The Secret Life Of Lele Pons. For the first time, the prominent Vine-turned-YouTube personality will speak openly about her experience living with the mental health condition obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and the neurological disorder Tourette syndrome.

"It got to a point that I could not move."

Lele described her experience with OCD as "very powerful thoughts that make me do stuff that I don't want to do." In the ways that it can manifest itself, she added, "I just had to touch everything — everything — and if I didn't touch everything, I thought my family was going to die . . . It got to a point that I could not move." Lele's father, Luis Pons, who is also interviewed for the docuseries, said, "It's a struggle that is 24 hours a day. She's incapable of taking care of herself at times, but then she's taking care of complex things in ways that takes [sic] no effort."

The Secret Life Of Lele Pons will premiere on YouTube on May 19, with new episodes released on a weekly basis. In the meantime, watch the emotional trailer above.
