When the queen's daughter married in 1973, a dessert contest was launched, and the winner's creation was served at the wedding. Culinary student Marilyn Ricketts won with her "mint royale" ice cream – better known today as "mint chip." The main course of Anne's wedding menu was lobster, followed by partridge served with fresh peas.
