Octavia Spencer Has The Help Art in Her Home

Octavia Spencer Has a Painting of The Help Hanging in Her Home, 'Cause You Can't Frame an Oscar

Octavia Spencer's chat with Melissa McCarthy on Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show: At Home Edition was so entertaining, you might've missed a sweet but subtle detail of her home decor in the background. Octavia filmed her portions of the isolated interview from her Los Angeles abode, and in the top right corner of the screen, you can see a framed piece of art. Squint (or zoom, like I did) and you'll notice it's actually a tribute to The Help — the 2011 film for which Octavia won the Oscar for best supporting actress.

Octavia's painting features her character, Minny, with Aibileen (played by Viola Davis) and Skeeter (played by Emma Stone) at a typewriter. Although the art goes otherwise unacknowledged throughout the interview, it's a lovely reminder of the role Octavia says "changed [her] personal and professional life." Watch the clip above to see it for yourself.
