While knowing your zodiac sign is pretty common knowledge (and needed for first dates, right?), your moon sign isn't always the first thing that comes to mind when you are thinking about your personality traits. In fact, your moon sign may not even come to mind at all.
The moon sign, though, reveals much about your emotions, habits, and reactions. It also is said to reveal your innermost needs, said Joseph D'Airo, a Long Island, NY-based psychic medium and intuitive adviser.
"The rising sign, or ascendant sign, is the zodiac sign that appeared on eastern horizon the moment you were born. It is said the zodiac sign description is the first personality trait that we show, sometimes its confusing because we often don't see this aspect of ourselves but others see this in us. It means that this sign represents how you can present yourself to the world in the way we understand that particular zodiac sign," explained D'Airo.
To find out what your moon sign is, you can put your birthday, time of birth, and place of birth into a calculator, or you can use an old-fashioned chart if you're feeling nostalgic. After finding out what your moon sign is, you can dig deep and read more about what the signs mean in relation to your zodiac sign and how it may (or may not) tell a lot about you as a person.
"Where every zodiac was in the sky at the time of your birth can chart out your conscious and subconscious traits of your complete personality. I see this as a general starting point to learning about ourselves because environment and emotions are a a factor to our personality/identity and ways we think and viewing everything around us," said D'Airo.
However, your signs shouldn't (and don't) dictate who you are and what you bring to the table, so blaming your bad behaviour on the zodiac doesn't make it right.
"To me, the zodiac represents the energy available to us when we are born. Nothing is set in stone, because it is up to us with what we do with the energy and information to create life experiences," he said.
