It's pretty common these days for good teachers to get creative with getting their kids excited for class and assignments, often encourageing students to get creatives themselves and come up pop culture-inspired ways to express they're understanding the material. When Mrs. Merlette filmed a video for Instagram of her and her 3rd grade class singing a maths-inspired remix to "Old Town Road" by Lil Nas X featuring Billy Rae Cyrus (and a hyped Melissa & Doug plush giraffe?) she likely thought just sharing her energetic kids was the peak of her day . . . until Lil Nas X himself saw it online and Tweeted directly at her.
