Popsugar Parenting Disney Food Disneyland Lunar New Year Purple Sweet Potato Macaron Disney's New Specialty Macaron Actually Tastes Like This Unexpected Vegetable 11 July 2018 by Kelsey Garcia A post shared by Mariannie Nguyen (@torisempai) on Jan 21, 2017 at 9:16pm PST Disney is celebrating the Lunar New Year with an expansive celebration featuring parades, a nighttime water show, and various activities. Only at Disney California Adventure, the celebration also includes different food stands with Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese cuisine. Among the many specialty menu items, Disney introduced a brand-new macaron flavour that sounds so damn delicious. At a marketplace in front of the Golden Zephyr ride, visitors can enjoy a Bánh Khoai Lang Tím, or purple sweet potato macaron. The popular ingredient — also known as ube — has recently been used in a lot of trendy desserts due to its creamy consistency and eye-catching colour. Apart from looking cool, the macaron has gotten positive reviews on Instagram, where one Disney blogger described it as the "perfect finish to a meal." They added, "The purple yam flavour satisfies the sweet tooth while not being overly sweet, which I love." The macaron will be available for the duration of the Lunar New Year celebration from Jan. 26 to Feb. 18. Enjoy pictures of it ahead.
