Redefining "Family": I'm "White," My Sister Is "Black," and Yes, We're Related
POPSUGAR Family Content Director Angela Elias has a complicated history with the term "half-sister." Growing up in a blended family, being biracial herself and with a sister who is biracial, Angela found herself leaning on "half-sister" for convenience, although it did a disservice to just how close these two are.
As a child, Angela had to educate folks on how "people in the same family can look different." It may not come up as much these days, but Angela is proud to spearhead POPSUGAR Family's launch as a place to showcase families of all kinds.
