Danai Gurira Wore Braids to the Oscars and Looked Like an Actual Goddess
By now you've probably scrolled through dozens of red carpet looks in honour of Sunday night's Oscars ceremony, but can we stop for a moment to talk about Danai Gurira looking like a golden goddess? The star of Oscar winner Black Panther showed up at the 91st Academy Awards rocking a gold, strapless floor-length gown from Brock Collection and a head full of braids that I couldn't take my eyes off of.
The braids are the work of celebrity hairstylist Larry Sims, who created the look by placing cornrows at the front of Gurira's head before adding single braids to the back half and accessorising with a gold headband to match her dress.
