Kat Von D's Stunning 10-Year Anniversary Palette Will Take Your Breath Away
As soon as we heard that Kat Von D will release a 10-year anniversary collection in May, we began mentally preparing for something major. After all, the goth-inclined beauty guru is known for colourful staples, such as her 44 shade line of Everlasting Liquid Lipstick and near-blinding Metal Crush Highlighters. We just got a peek at the palette she's prepping for May, and all we have to say about it is this: we hope you're sitting down, because this baby will amaze you.
During a recent trip to her brand's distribution centre, the mogul oversaw production of her impending releases. First, she signed some limited edition, small-stock cosmetics cases that KVD diehards need on their vanity.
Kat was also kind enough to tease perhaps the most anticipated goodie in the lineup: her new palette! As you can see in the video above, the gold lined packaging is adorned with a black and white, Victorian-era sketch of a woman's face and flowers.
That alone has me searching "Kat Von D" on Venmo to send her a down payment on this bad boy. But, in life and in makeup, it's what's inside that counts. Luckily, the tattoo artist also showed us the new eyeshadow shades that make up this bundle.
Each one is named after one of Kat's "muses," who all star in the anniversary campaign. We spot 10 matte shades in a wide range of colours, from corals and orange to blue and red, plus five shimmer hues such as purple, silver, and yellow.
This will drop on May 5, also known as Cinco de Mayo, a Mexican celebration that honours the country's surprise victory over France in 1862. According to her Instagram caption, Kat chose this date "in celebration of my Latina roots + the country I was born in." Along with the train case and palette, this vegan collection will include a golden Tattoo Liner, two new shades of Everlasting Liquid Lipstick and Studded Kiss (Kat's bullet offering), a highlighter compact, and a golden brush set.
