Camila Mendes Added a Whimsical Fairy to Her Tattoo Collection

It seems like Hollywood has a bit of tattoo fever. Over the weekend, "Riverdale" actor Camila Mendes became the latest celebrity to show off her 2022 ink, and the adorably whimsical design is a scene stealer. (Appropriate, given the fact that she won this exact accolade at the Teen Choice Awards.)
Mendes's design, done by tattoo artist Kaiju, is a detailed portrait of a fairy on the back of her shoulder. It's done in fine lines using a single needle. While this is not Mendes's first tattoo, it is certainly her largest one to date, and though we can't say for certain, if she's anything like her "Riverdale" costars Lili Reinhart and Vanessa Morgan, it likely won't be her last. We don't yet know the meaning of Mendes's newest piece of ink, but she got her previous tattoo — the phrase "to build a home" in cursive lettering — after she was sexually assaulted in college, according to an interview with "Women's Health."
Mendes joins celebrities like Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, and Romeo Beckham in getting statement tattoos to welcome 2022, and she's remaining right on trend as fine-line designs have been predicted to continue to be a popular choice in the upcoming year. Take a closer look at Mendes's design ahead.
