Ciara Just Got the Coolest Haircut of the Year

Ciara is debuting yet another hair change. Showing off the latest LITA by Ciara styles, the multihyphenate unveiled a new shag in a video shared to her Instagram on 22 Nov. Her style is of the curly variation, modernised with face-framing layers and tons of texture. Her choppy, layered look was created by celebrity hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos, who also works with stars like Megan Fox, Camila Cabello, and Meghan Trainor.
Though the shag haircut was originally popularised by rockstars in the '80s, it's seen quite the comeback in the past year. NYC-based hairstylist Devin Toth even said it's replaced the lob as one of the hottest haircut trends. "It's fresh, but it can get boring after a while because there's not much going on in the front," he previously told POPSUGAR. "The shag haircut is, in a nutshell, a lob with bangs. It's so popular right now because it adds a different, more interesting kind of geometry around the face, and not just at the bottom length of the haircut like the lob does at the collar bone."
The OAM Skin founder has experimented with virtually every cool hair trend out there, so it's no wonder she's pulling off the shag with ease. Just last month, she executed the'90s-inspired Pamela Anderson updo with perfection for one event. And for another, she tried out sultry bottleneck bangs for size.
