Make no mistake: Hailey Bieber has impossibly good skin, and it would require next-level sorcery to make it look even better. Yet, this is precisely the job of holistic facialist Emma Goodman, who's better known as the "skin witch" on Instagram and at the Skin Worship clinic in Beverly Hills. The secret behind her magic touch, if you had to dwindle it down to one thing? Energy healing.

Goodman has been utilising healing rituals and practices herself and with clients for nearly 19 years, through as many tough times as good. First, at the start of her career as an aesthetician after she began experiencing health issues. "I started seeing a holistic doctor, because I wasn't really getting answers from doctors in general, and everything started to make sense," she said.

Then, when tragedy stuck and Goodman lost her husband to a motorcycle crash while pregnant, she decided to undergo her yoga teacher training. "It was during this really gnarly time of walking in-between death and life, where I was grieving the loss of my husband and yet I was anticipating the birth of my daughter."

Little by little, as she healed, Goodman began to incorporate those therapeutic rituals into her everyday life — and that included her skin-care practice. In the treatment room specifically, she tries to channel that energy shift to anyone who walks through the door, whether it's through laying on infrared mats (which produces heat to relax the nervous system), reiki (to balance the chakra), an oxygen mask (to increase the oxygen uptake in the skin), or guided meditation (to relax the mind). Sometimes, it's a combination of all the above.

It's so much more than just slapping some products on your skin. People are overwhelmed and stressed out in their daily lives, and [they] need their energies to be recharged and rebooted.

"It's so much more than just slapping some products on your skin," said Goodman. "People are overwhelmed and stressed out in their daily lives, and the reason I am busy is because they need their energies to be recharged and rebooted. Every ritual I do is very specific to each person, depending on how they're feeling emotionally and physically, and I never do the same facial twice. But no matter what, when people walk out of the treatment room, they've got great skin but they also feel different."

Going in for a skin-care treatment anywhere, of course, is not an option at the moment, but DIYing a Hailey Bieber-worthy facial at home is as easy as following these healing practices ahead. Frankly, they might just be exactly what the world needs more of right now.
