Jennifer Aniston will "try almost anything once." On 22 Aug., the actor's WSJ. Magazine cover hit newstands. In the accompanying interview, she talked a bit about her view on beauty and ageing, and disclosed an unexpected facial she tried after an aesthetician recommended using fish roe on her skin.

"First of all, I said, 'Are you serious? How do you get salmon's sperm?'" Aniston recalled. Ever the trooper, she did end up trying the treatment, but she told the magazine that she's not sure it actually did anything. (That assessment is fair: there is little evidence that semen contains enough protein or spermidine to be beneficial for the skin when applied topically.)

Still, there is one procedure that Aniston swears by for her youthful glow: weekly peptide injections. This type of therapy involves injecting the chains of amino acids directly into the bloodstream to increase collagen production. "I do think that's the future," she said.

Aniston joins a long list of celebrities who are opening up about their routine cosmetic treatments and in turn, are demystifying Hollywood beauty secrets. People like Khloé Kardashian and Raven Symoné have discussed their experiences with plastic surgery and apps like TikTok are democratising the space, making it easier than ever to talk — and learn — about any procedure that catches your attention. Gone are the days when you could only glean information via a consultation with a doctor. Whether you want to know if a diamond glow facial is worth it or need the ins and outs of an eyelid lift, all of that information is just a few clicks away.
