Kim Kardashian Ditched Her Signature Short Nail Look For the Met Gala
After rumours swirled about whether or not Kim Kardashian — and the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner family — would be in attendance at the Met Gala 2023, we're happy to report that the star has arrived. Kardashian stepped onto the red carpet wearing a Schiaparelli gown and an equally sexy beauty look to match. Her hair was styled in a Pamela Anderson-inspired updo by celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton, and her makeup was done by Mario Dedivanovic, but we couldn't help but notice the masterpiece that was her simple manicure.
Created by celebrity nail stylist Kim Truong using CND products, Kardashian's nails featured the chic supermodel nails — a look the star has worn before. However, this time, instead of her usual short, square-shaped nails, she had extra-long, stiletto-shaped tips.
"For this year's Met Gala, Kim's designer Schiaparelli donned her in thousands of pearls paired with a cinched nude corset," Truong says in a press release. "Kim was a vision dripping in opalescent jewels. Due to the intricate detailing of Kim's look, we wanted her nails to be the embodiment of subtle glamour."
To create her hairstyle, Appleton used Dyson hair tools on the entrepreneur, and Dedivanovic used Makeup by Mario products for her makeup look.
Kardashian has made quite the name for herself at Anna Wintour's annual celebration. She's attended every year since her first time back in 2013 (save for 2020 when it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Last year, for the 2022 theme of "In America: An Anthology of Fashion," the star had bleach-blond hair and wore Marilyn Monroe's famous gown as an ode to the Old Hollywood actor. Last year was also a monumental one because it was the first time the entire Kardashian-Jenner group had scored an invite to the gala.
