Mushroom blonde hair is exactly what it sounds like: It's a version of bronde that hairstylists at NYC-based Butterfly Studio Salon describe as being closer to "beige" or "nude." Tamara Defelice of the salon tells POPSUGAR that the look is perfect for those who got "super brassy from going the lightest shades of blonde in the Summer, because it preserves hair's health all during cooler seasons."
What sets mushroom blonde apart from similar hair colours its key features: the dark cool brown hue that comes from the root, and the lighter pieces that frame the face. "Don't be scared to keep or create icier blonde pieces around the face frame," Defelice said, and she suggests keeping the look toned with a colour-depositing hair product like the Kerastase Bain Ultra-Violet Purple Shampoo (£15).
