Curtain Bangs

The trend: Curtain Bangs

The breakdown: Bangs, in general, are having a serious moment right now. Curtain bangs, though, are particularly trendy. For those unware, the term refers to the curtain-like appearance of the fringe, which is often seen parted in the center and swept to either side, or it can all be swept to just one side. We saw them on the NYFW runway at Jason Wu, and lots of Hollywood stars are debuting the look, themselves, including Kirsten Dunst, Sofia Vergara, Chloë Grace Moretz, Alexa Chung, and January Jones.

Get the look: Step number one: secure a really good hairstylist who has the ability to create flattering fringe that seamlessly blends into the rest of your hair. Step two: round up an arsenal of products and styling tools that will help you create soft, touchable bangs that stay where you put them. Don't forget a dry shampoo to keep them fresh since they'll get oily quicker than the rest of your hair. To "train your bangs" to part in the center, style and clip them on either side of your head. Apply hair spray, let it dry, then remove the clips.
