This month, MAC's iconic Face & Body Foundation got a makeover. Before you freak out, don't worry, the formula hasn't changed, but the brand has renamed it to the MAC Studio Radiance Face & Body Foundation (£27) and added 20 more shades. "They haven't fiddled with the formula, it works the same," makeup artist Terry Barber said. "Now, however, there are a lot more shades for darker skin tones, as well added more warmer tones as well."
What makes MAC's Face & Body such an iconic formula and Barber's favourite foundation, actually? "It's a very fine liquid foundation with a good amount of pigment," Barber explained. "When Face & Body launched in the beginning of the '90s, it was the first foundation that was a thin liquid that still had a lot of pigment in it, so for me it toed the line perfectly between a flawless foundation and a tinted moisturiser. And it's still relevant today. It's still in most makeup artist kits because it gives you a real skin finish that has a quality, premium shine. You can put it on with powder or without powder, you can sheer it down totally, or you can layer it up to flawless coverage, but it never breaks or spackles on the skin."
