Selena Gomez's Flower Nails Are a Miniature Work of Art
Selena Gomez is waving goodbye to winter with floral nails so intricate they should be framed. The spring-themed manicure, painted by celebrity manicurist Tom Bachik, features delicate flowers hand-painted in shades of white, purple, and gold polish. "Saint Laurent Spring," Bachik captioned a photo of Gomez's nails on 16 Feb.
Colourful, sophisticated, and elegant, Gomez's new manicure takes major skill to achieve. Each nail featured a unique design, but florals were the overarching theme. The 2-D bouquet included a mix of geraniums, violet aster flowers, blue glory-of-the-snow, white daisies, and nasturtium flowers in vibrant yellow and crimson. Applied with immense attention to detail, the petals of each flower were layered to add dimension.
Bachik adorned the monochrome base with flecks of gold to emulate leaves against the shadowy backdrop. He also embellished the centre of each blossom with gold glitter. Finally, the almond-shaped nails received a clear coat to seal in the intricate designs.
While it's likely Gomez stopped by Bachik's salon ahead of a trip to New York Fashion Week, her spring-ready nails are fit for any occasion: runways, red carpets, dinner with her BFF Nicola Peltz-Beckham, and even at-home hangouts with her 9-year-old sister Gracie. In December, Gomez attended Variety's 2022 Hitmakers Brunch in Los Angeles with a colourful "skittles" manicure also painted by Bachik. Between Bachik's creativity and Gomez's eye for colour, we can't wait to see what other vivid nail art designs the duo share this season.
