Alex Trebek Finished With Chemotherapy and Back at Jeopardy

Alex Trebek Is Done With Chemotherapy and Back to Work on Jeopardy: "I'm on the Mend"

Alex Trebek is back on the set of Jeopardy! after undergoing treatment for stage-four pancreatic cancer. The 78-year-old revealed his diagnosis back in March, and announced in a short video posted to the Jeopardy! YouTube account on Aug. 29 that he is now done with chemotherapy and "back in action" ahead of the popular game show's 36th season.

"It's another day at the office for me and an exciting day because so many great things have been happening," he says before recapping a few of the more memorable moments from Jeopardy!'s most recent season. He continues later, saying, "I've gone through a lot of chemotherapy, and thankfully that is now over. I'm on the mend, and that's all I can hope for right now."

Back in May, Alex gave an update on his condition during a segment on Good Morning America. The host opened up about the droves of people who had reached out to him since his reveal earlier this year, and he also touched on the mental and emotional effect that his diagnosis has had on him. "What I'm not used to dealing with is the surges that come on suddenly of deep, deep sadness. It brings tears to my eyes," he told host Robin Roberts. "I've discovered in this whole episode, ladies and gentlemen, that I'm a bit of a wuss. But I'm fighting through it."

Season 36 of Jeopardy! premieres on ABC on Sept. 9.
