Jennifer Lopez Reflects on That Michelle Obama Grammys Moment: "We Were Feeling Each Other’s Power"

The Grammys pretty much made our heads spin with excitement when the host, Alicia Keys, started the show alongside Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Michelle Obama. The five women talked about the importance of music and its impact, but it was hard to get past the fact that Michelle casually decided to stop by the show and surprise everyone.

On the Feb. 13 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, Jennifer discussed the onstage appearance and how the goal was to set the bar high with a truly memorable Grammys opening. She also shared that they all had a quick prayer session before walking out on stage. "We all just kind of joined hands and we started saying, 'Thank you, God, for this blessing and to be here and help us to shine light and create unity and goodness,'" she said. "We were feeling each other's power and hoping that we could create a really special moment for everybody."
