Popsugar Celebrity The Royals Life-Size Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Cakes A Woman Made Life-Size Meghan and Harry Cakes — They Took 250 Hours and 110 Pounds of Icing! 14 May 2018 by Victoria Messina Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made me feel a lot of feelings, ranging from hopeful (that true love really does exist) to a little jealous (of their epic romance). But I can honestly say the royal couple has never made me feel hungry — until now, that is. UK-based dessert master Lara Mason is the source of my sudden royal hunger pangs, as she just made life-size cakes (yes, cakes) that look just like Meghan and Harry. The regal masterpieces bear an uncanny resemblance to the soon-to-be-married couple, as they're donning the same exact outfits Meghan and Harry wore while announcing their engagement last year. All in all, the cakes took Lara 250 hours, about 300 eggs, 33 pounds of sugar, 33 pounds of flour, 33 pounds of butter, and 110 pounds of icing to make from scratch, and they're completely edible, save for the internal structuring. Considering the fact that I can't even bake a basic chocolate cake without somehow screwing something up, I'm pretty darn impressed by these realistic beauties. Read on to admire Lara's Meghan and Harry cakes in all their glory — and be sure to check out how funny they looked before getting slathered in fondant and icing!
