Popsugar Celebrity The Royals Meghan Markle Donates Baby Shower Flowers to Charity Meghan Markle Blossoms in Kindness and Gives Floral Displays From Her Baby Shower to Charity 22 February 2019 by Brea Cubit Image Source: Getty / Chris Jackson Meghan Markle found a way to turn her New York baby shower into a charitable effort. On Wednesday, the Duchess of Sussex celebrated the anticipated arrival of her baby with Prince Harry at the Mark Hotel. The event took place in the penthouse suite and featured a floral arrangement class, where guests — including Serena Williams, Amal Clooney, Gayle King, and Abigail Spencer — constructed flowery displays. Afterward, Meghan decided to give the bright arrays to the Repeat Roses charity. The organisation takes used flowers and floral arrangements from special events and re-creates them into new designs and bouquets to donate. The blossoms from Meghan's celebration were given to pediatric cancer patients at Ronald McDonald House Charities of New York, as well as cancer patients at Hope Lodge and care recipients at Unique People Services. Jennifer Grove, the CEO of Repeat Roses, opened up to People about the charity's appreciation for Meghan's sweet contribution. "Repeat Roses was so honoured to help petal-it-forward with a baby shower experience for the Duchess of Sussex and her thoughtful friends by creating a ripple effect of kindness across the community," she said. Repeat Roses posted a gallery of those who received the colourful creations, including young children and elderly patients. "We were honoured to match the beautiful floral arrangements designed by the Duchess of Sussex and her guests, including host @serenawilliams, to a few of our very favourite NYC neighbour organisations," the charity captioned the post. "The flowers brought a ray of sunshine on a cold winter day, and will be greatly enjoyed for the week ahead." Look on to see how Ronald McDonald House Charities, Hope Lodge, and Unique People Services all gave Meghan a shout-out for her donations! One of our guests from London, who is in NYC for breast cancer treatment, nearly cried with excitement. @hopelodgenyc provides free lodging to cancer patients traveling far from home for treatment. Thank you to Repeat Roses, Lewis Miller Designs and, of course, the Duchess of Sussex for this generous donation. #followthatflower #itschictoshare A post shared by HopeLodgeNYC (@hopelodgenyc) on Feb 22, 2019 at 8:48am PST 2 / 3 View this post on Instagram The secret is out!!
