Taylor Swift is looking back on her sexual assault trial, one year later. On Tuesday, the singer took a moment during her Reputation stadium tour in Tampa to reflect on her victorious legal battle against DJ David Mueller. "Looking back, this exact day a year ago, I was not playing a sold out stadium in Tampa, I was in a courtroom in Denver, Colorado," she said while sitting at the piano. "I was there for a sexual assault case and this day a year ago was the day the jury sided in my favour and said that they believed me."

As the singer tried to hold back her tears, she reflected on all the other sexual assault survivors who weren't believed. "I just wanted to say I'm sorry to anyone who ever wasn't believed because I don't know what turn my life would have taken if somebody didn't believe me when I said something had happened to me." She continued by thanking her fans for their unwavering support over the years, and for always believing in her.

During her trial on Aug. 14, 2017, the jury ruled in favour of Taylor, who accused the DJ of groping her during a Denver meet-and-greet back in 2013. David had previously filed a $3 million suit against the singer, but she countersued for a symbolic $1, which she made reference to in her "Look What You Made Me Do" music video. Following her trial, she made good on her promise to help support sexual assault victims by donating an undisclosed but "generous" amount of money to Mariska Hargitay's Joyful Heart Foundation. See what else the singer had to say about the trial ahead.
