Viola Davis Skydiving Video 2019

Viola Davis's Skydiving Adventure Was Filled With Swearing and Singing All the Way Down

I am not someone who does well with heights, but even if I was, I think a 12,000 foot drop would still sound pretty intimidating. Apparently, though, for Viola Davis the thrill of falling from the sky is just another reason to sing — and let out a string of swear words. On Wednesday, Viola posted a series of videos on Instagram during a visit to Big Island Gravity in Hawaii. "I'm feeling a little anxious but I'm ready," Viola told her instructor before the big jump — and I have never seen someone so happy to fall out of a plane.

Halfway up in the air, Viola's instructor asked her if she still thought skydiving was a good idea. After a hesitant pause, the Black Panther alum said yes and threw in a quick prayer, just to be safe. What followed was a whole lot of swearing and silent screaming masked by the rush of the wind from the fall. "Holy sh*t! Oh my gosh!" Viola said.

But the best part? Almost immediately after getting her bearings on the whole falling situation, Viola started to sing Montell Jordan's "This Is How We Do It" and bobbing her head back and forth like she was at a party (and not falling through the sky)! I don't know if that would be my first reaction while hurtling back down to Earth, but it looks like it made for a pretty amazing experience. Viola also tagged the post #BlackGirlMagicOrBlackGirlCrazy, and if you ask me, having the courage to jump from 12,000 feet in the air is pretty magical.
