Baptista grew up in Lisbon, where her mother was a translator. Her father, an engineer, is Brazilian, and her parents met in Rio de Janeiro, according to Uol. Baptista speaks five languages — Portuguese, English, German, French, and Spanish — and her family travelled extensively during her upbringing.

Baptista is a huge star in Portugal. At the age of 16, she starred in Simão Cayatte's short film "Miami," netting her the award for best actress at the Festival Ibérico de Ciné, per Vogue. She also starred in Edgar Pêra's "Caminhos Magnétykos" and Marco Pontecorvo's "Fatima" as well as several popular Portuguese series. In 2020, she played the lead in Netflix's "Warrior Nun," with the second season of the series dropping on Nov. 10.

Baptista often shares glimpses of her globetrotting adventures on Instagram, posting photos from Myanmar, Amsterdam, Brazil, Cuba, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Spain, among others. Per People, in 2018, she also "did an extensive amount of humanitarian work at an orphanage in Cambodia focusing on education."

According to the People source, the pair are in a "serious" relationship. "They have been dating for over a year," the source said. "They are in love and Chris has never been happier. His family and friends all adore her."
