Barack Obama's Big Presidential Regret Comes Down to Dolly Parton and the Medal of Freedom

Barack Obama has participated in a lot of interviews over the course of his career, but The Late Show host Stephen Colbert was bound and determined to find a few questions the former president hadn't answered before. In a video published Tuesday, Barack sat down with Stephen to discuss a number of pressing topics like the life cycle of a piece of toast and why Dolly Parton hasn't received the Presidential Medal of Freedom yet.

"That's a mistake," Barack told Stephen in regards to Dolly's lack of the award. "I'm shocked." The late-night host pushed further and asked, "Looking back on your eight years, do you realise that's the mistake you made?" Barack admitted, "That was a screw-up." He attempted to amend the obvious wrong by saying he assumed Dolly had already received the prestigious honour. "I'm surprised. She deserves one," he confirmed, before adding, "I'll call Biden."
