Who Is "Stranger Things" Star Caleb McLaughlin Dating? He Was Once Linked to Ice Spice
Caleb McLaughlin has quite literally grown up in front of millions of people's eyes. The actor was just 13 years old when he joined the cast of Netflix's "Stranger Things" as Lucas Sinclair. As a result, much of McLaughlin's adolescent life has played out in the public eye, though he's done a great job of keeping his personal life private.
While his love life might not be something the 21-year-old actor has been vocal about, McLaughlin has opened up about how he faced racism early on in his career and how it's still something he faces today. Speaking at the Heroes Comic Con in Belgium in September 2022, McLaughlin shared that "it definitely took a toll on me as a younger kid."
He added: "Even now some people don't follow me or don't support me because I'm Black. Sometimes overseas you feel the racism, you feel the bigotry. Sometimes it's hard to talk about and for people to understand, but when I was younger it definitely affected me a lot."
Thankfully, McLaughlin has the support of his parents. "My parents had to be like, 'It's a sad truth, but it's because you're the Black child on the show,'" McLaughlin explained. "Because I was born with this beautiful chocolate skin, I'm not loved."
McLaughlin, however, has taken his experiences and turned them into something positive. "That's why with my platform I want to spread positivity and love," he said. "Because I do not give hate back to people who give hate to me."
While McLaughlin made a very rare comment about his love life in 2020, telling Extra that he's not dating anyone, he was rumoured to be romantically involved with Ice Spice last year. To find out more, scroll this gallery.
