King Charles III's Coronation is the first Coronation ceremony in seven decades, so of course there were some celebrities in attendance, namely Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, who were both photographed at London's Westminster Abbey on Saturday, 6 May. The American stars are meant to perform in the Coronation concert on Sunday on the grounds of Windsor Castle.

Ahead of the ceremony's start, Perry was caught on camera looking confused as she wandered around Westminster Abbey looking for her seat in her all-pink ensemble, per Twitter footage.

The Coronation ceremony also marks a monumental moment for Charles's wife Camilla Parker Bowles, who became Queen Consort in line with the late Queen Elizabeth II's wishes during the event. Meanwhile, additional members of the king's family, including his sons Prince William and Prince Harry, were in attendance, as well as William's wife, Kate Middleton, and their three children: 9-year-old Prince George, 7-year-old Princess Charlotte, and 4-year-old Prince Louis. The children all had important roles in the ceremony, with George serving as a page of honour.

The last monarch to be crowned before Saturday was Charles's mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, who took her seat on the throne in 1953.
