Denzel Washington's Son Brings Him to Tears in a Touching Interview Moment

Who would've thought seeing Denzel Washington brought to tears would end up being such a sweet moment? During press for his upcoming film The Little Things, Access showed Denzel a clip of a previous interview with his son, John David Washington, whom he shares with wife Pauletta Washington. "I think it's about time," John David told Access about his dad being named the best actor of the 21st century by The New York Times. "I think he is one of the greatest to ever do it, so it was a very proud moment for our entire family."

Denzel was completely taken aback by his son's praise, enough so that he had to take a moment to process the compliment. "Wow, I'm speechless. I forgot what the question was, but I'm speechless. I didn't know he said that," Denzel added when asked what his reaction was. The Little Things follows Denzel as a sheriff with a dark past whose hunt for a serial killer with a fellow cop could bring that past to light. The film premieres Jan. 29 on HBO Max, with Rami Malek as Sgt. Jim Baxter and Jared Leto as suspect Albert Sparma. You can see the touching moment play out in the full video above.
