Jack Harlow Responds to His Viral Met Gala Interview

Jack Harlow means it when he says he loves you. During a May 9 appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," the rapper and unexpected charmer finally addressed his viral Met Gala interview moment, likening it to a work of art. "That's like a piece of art because there's so many ways to interpret that," he said. "Everyone has a different take on what was going through her head, so I'll leave it up to interpretation."

"I'll leave it up to interpretation."

The interview in question took place on the red carpet of the 2022 Met Gala with the evening's returning Vogue correspondent Emma Chamberlain. Harlow wrapped the interview by casually telling Chamberlain he loved her with a knowing glance at the camera as he backed away. Chamberlain responded accordingly before staring into the abyss and stifling her laughter. The moment went viral, and here is where we find ourselves.

Fallon said after playing the clip, "Is that the Harlow effect?" When asked if he regularly ends interviews that way, Harlow responded, "Only if I love them. I have a lot of warmth to share." He added, "You forgot the part where she said it back. We love each other."

Harlow is currently doing press for his second album, "Come Home the Kids Miss You," which was released on May 6. An early single from the album, "First Class," samples Fergie's "Glamorous" and directly caused a 70 percent spike in streams of the 2007 hit. Harlow was also recently cast in the forthcoming "White Men Can't Jump" movie, which will be a remake of the 1992 film originally starring Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson.
