Joe Jonas Reveals Why he Wants to Keep his Relationship With Sophie Turner Private

TORONTO, ONTARIO - SEPTEMBER 12: (L-R) Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner attend the

When it comes to celebrity couples, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have to be one of the most recognisable. Since Jonas rose to fame alongside his two brothers in the Disney wave of the 2000s and got together with "Game of Thrones" star Turner in 2016, the pair has got married, had two children together, and become a fan-favourite duo. While we might be used to seeing photos of them together at events or the occasional snap on social media, they keep their relationship very private, and now Jonas has opened up about why.

"I want to feel like an open book," he told Mr. Porter in an 11 Nov. interview. "But when we started dating, I realised that I didn't have a ton of stuff that was just for me. And in the end, it makes me a better person to have something for myself." The interview took place the day after Jonas watched Harry Styles perform at Madison Square Gardens after that spitgate incident at the "Don't Worry Darling" premiere at Venice Film Festival.

"There have been a lot of situations in my career where, like this, a small thing has been blown out of proportion," he continued. "It's had this trickling effect, which is partially why I decided to take a mental health break from social media. Now I'm addicted to not knowing what's going on."

Turner has also previously spoken of her love-hate relationship with social media. Speaking to Elle UK in May, she said, "Having it off my phone has been so helpful. Now, if I do have to go on it, it's for a few minutes once or twice a week, rather than hours every day. It's made such a difference. Live real life — it's much more fun."

Jonas also discussed stepping into more serious acting roles, as he is set to star in Korean war film, "Devotion". His wife, who is due to take the lead in upcoming ITVX drama, "Jean", has been helping him prepare for the role and he calls her "the best acting coach ever".

Aside from their successful careers, the couple have been focussing on family life since they added a second daughter to their family in July. Jonas admits it gets easier with the second child, saying "You don't need to check their pulse constantly to make sure they're breathing. You get over those fears." Although , he still doesn't always feel like a Dad. "I feel like a kid raising kids," he said.

The couple have been spotted on a number of date nights recently, wearing matching outfits and looking more lovedup than ever. "I'm still so grateful to do this, so if being in the public eye comes with some of that drama and the eye rolling and if you have to swat some beef with a person you met once, then so be it," he said. It seems that Jonas is comfortable with his celebrity status now that he has learned to keep some things more private, and he is all the happier for it.
