Leigh-Anne Pinnock's Wedding Didn't Go as Planned: "It Ran an Hour Late"
The rumours are true! Leigh-Anne Pinnock has finally confirmed that she's tied the knot with Andre Gray. The happy couple got married this June in a stunning Jamaican ceremony, and the Little Mix star has revealed some details about their big day – including how the ceremony didn't quite go the way she had hoped.
Speaking to "Hits Radio Breakfast Show" presenters Fleur East and James Barr on June 16, Pinnock said: "We were in Jamaica, so it was bit laid-back, all a bit chill, so it ran an hour late and it was a little bit unorganised." She went on to say how she felt about things not happening as smoothly as the wedding party had planned: "You know you have that image of exactly how it's going to be on the day? A couple of things just weren't that, and I had to say to myself, 'You know what Leigh it's fine, it's still beautiful everyone's having a good time, just chill'. But it was perfect, even though it wasn't!"
Pinnock also spoke about the music, the couple's first dance, and the food on their special day. "It was beautiful," she said. "Do you remember Jahmene [Douglas] from 'The X Factor?' He sang as I walked down the aisle and I had a gospel choir as well, it was just absolutely stunning. Our first dance was Dvsn's 'The Line,' proper slow, proper romantic, and then for the wedding breakfast we had curried chicken, fish — the food was really good."
Although the singer hasn't shared any images of her wedding day just yet, her Little Mix bandmate Jade Thirlwall gave fans a first peek at the nuptials on 14 June and it looked dreamy! The singer posted a slew of stunning pictures of herself with her close friends on Instagram, including her boyfriend and Rizzle Kicks singer Jordan Stephens. Eagle-eyed onlookers may have noticed that the coconut Stephens was drinking from in the images had "L" and "A" carved onto it, hinting at the couple's first names.
Thirlwall channelled the butterfly trend in the stunning beach resort, wearing a blue and green ruffled dress with a thigh-split, alongside a butterfly ring with diamanté nails. Meanwhile, she styled her locs in a gorgeous half-up, half-down hairstyle, and stepped out in a pair of lime green mule heels.
Pinnock and the footballer travelled to the Caribbean Island for their wedding with their 21-month-old twins in tow. Taking to Instagram on 1 June, the 31-year-old singer wrote: "We home 🇯🇲 haven't felt this whole in a while. ❤️" She continued, explaining to her followers that she doesn't always get to spend time with her family. "I've been enjoying every second. Slide 2 the bubbas saw the sea for the first time in a year, cautious at first but they are full on water babies now and that makes me so happy."
The Mirror reported that fellow Little Mixer, Thirlwall, was in attendance to watch her bandmate get married, although their bandmate Perrie Edwards did not appear to attend. However, in true supportive fashion, she did comment on Thirlwall's post, writing: "You look STUNNING! 😫", whilst Pinnock added: "Beautiful"." The singer's dad, John Pinnock, shared a picture of himself and a friend all suited and booted in white shirts and waistcoats on 4 June. Meanwhile, more of Pinnock's close friends, including artist Hannah Lisa, have posted pictures in Jamaica on their Instagram accounts.
Pinnock and Gray have been together since 2016, with the former Watford player popping the question in 2020 with a black diamond engagement ring. The pair welcomed their twin babies in August 2021, but rarely post pictures of them on social media. While Little Mix are currently on a hiatus, Pinnock has signed a solo record deal and recently recorded an audiobook of "The Little Mermaid." Now that we've been graced with new music from the star, we are looking forward to seeing more of her with an extra ring on her finger!
