Misty Copeland is a mom! In a July interview with People, the famed ballet dancer revealed she welcomed her first child, a son, with husband Olu Evans three months ago. Copeland also said she plans to take time away from the stage to focus on her family. "I'm on maternity leave right now. I have a 3-month-old," she told the outlet. "But I will be back on the stage in 2023, hopefully, in the fall." Copeland added that she and Evans are taking their son abroad this summer to Corsica, France.

Copeland's baby news comes as no surprise as she's known for keeping her private life under wraps, and she plans to keep it that way with her son. However, the Greatness Wins cofounder is being transparent about seeking guidance on parenthood, telling People that she'll "definitely" be going to her business partners, Derek Jeter and Wayne Gretzy, and UNTUCKit founder Chris Riccobono for parenting advice.

Copeland met her husband back in 2004 and, according to her, Evans was her first boyfriend, Elle reported. The two got engaged in August 2015 and tied the knot a year later in a ceremony in Laguna Beach, CA.
