The former Big Time Rush singer and actress decided to end things after dating for about a year. On Jan. 4, James confirmed the news to Us Weekly and also explained why he hasn't announced their split online, saying, "It's part of my life, but I haven't acknowledged it directly on social media either because I don't think it's necessarily respectful or my place to say anything knowing that my fans — I don't want them to say anything negative, you know? I gotta be protective."
