As much as we love seeing our favourite celebrity couples together, things between them don't always work out. Although we were hoping 2019 wouldn't have as many devastating breakups as last year, some duos have already called it quits. From Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott to Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth, see which pairs have decided to close the chapter on their romance so far this year.
Almost a year after announcing their engagement, Cash Money Records cofounder Birdman and singer Toni Braxton split at the beginning of 2019. On Jan. 2, they both shared cryptic messages on their respective Instagram accounts. Birdman first posted and deleted a message on his story that read, "It's over." He then deleted photos of him and Toni from his page. That same day, Toni cleared her page of all photos and shared a new picture, captioning it, "Starting a new chapter isn't always an easy choice . . . but ALWAYS choose to be chosen. Cheers to a new year."
The two have been dating on and off since November 2015. After announcing their split in March 2018, they got back together a few months later — but it seems as though they've decided to go their separate ways yet again. On Jan. 2, Us Weekly confirmed that the singer and model "tried to make it work," and Gigi "focussed all her time and energy on [Zayn], but it just got to be too much."
