English actor and novelist Shane Briant died aged 74 on 27 May. The news was announced by biographer Robert Kenchington on Facebook. "It is with a heavy heart that I report the news that Shane Briant has died after a long and terrible illness", he wrote in the post.
Briant was a prolific film actor who starred in a number of Hammer Horror films, including Frankenstein, Vampire Hunter, and the Monster From Hell. He also starred in films like The Picture of Dorian Gray and The Macintosh Man, alongside American actor Paul Newman.
