Actor Charles Grodin died on 18 May after a battle with bone-marrow cancer, his son, Nicholas, confirmed in an email to CNN. Best known for his roles in The Heartbreak Kid, Midnight Run, Beethoven, and The Great Muppet Caper, Charles had a long stage career prior to the movie and TV roles that made him famous. From 1995-1998, he also hosted The Charles Grodin Show.
"So [sad] to hear. One of the funniest people I ever met," Charles's The Lonely Guy costar Steve Martin shared on Twitter. The Emmy winner is survived by wife Elissa Durwood Grodin, son Nicholas, and daughter Marion.
