Captain Tom Moore

World War II army veteran Captain Tom died of the coronavirus (COVID-19) on 2 Feb. at the age of 100. The centenarian was widely beloved after raising funds for NHS Charities Together by walking 100 laps around his garden at the age of 99. With the initial goal of raising £1000 in the days leading up to his 100th birthday, his fundraiser went viral and Captain Tom raised over £30 million in charitable donations.
