Is Ben Higgins Going to Be The Bachelor Again?
Is ABC Campaigning For Ben H. to Be The Bachelor . . . Again?
If you feel like you've been seeing Ben Higgins a lot lately, you'd be right. The former Bachelor made a return to The Bachelor franchise in The Bachelor Winter Games following his breakup with Lauren Bushnell. You also noticed he was on this past Monday's live episode of The Bachelor finale, giving his take on the situation Arie Luyendyk Jr. found himself in . . . which actually wasn't too far from where we saw Ben during his time as Bachelor.
We have a very strong feeling there is a reason we keep seeing Ben, and if our hunch is right, then we won't be surprised. It is more than possible Ben H. could return as the Bachelor for season 23 of the show.
Well, it's happened before.
Think back to 2007; it was a totally different time and we had a totally different bachelor. His name was Brad Womack and in the final episode of the season, he proposed to . . . no one. Now think back to 2011. Brad Womack found himself as the Bachelor once again, but this time he did propose (to Emily Maynard, who would later go on to become the Bachelorette). And who would we find on Emily's season? Arie. The Bachelor universe is crazy.
The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and all the spinoffs have a tendency to bring people back. We often see familiar faces getting a second, third, or even fourth chance. Remember Nick Viall? Nick was a former contestant on Andi Dorfman's season of The Bachelorette and later on Kaitlyn Bristowe's. He came in as runner0up both seasons, but eventually found himself as the Bachelor after his time on Bachelor in Paradise.
Bringing back fan favourites or controversial contestants to try holding the reins as the Bachelor or Bachelorette is not a new thing. ABC knows viewers love to return to something familiar. Even with shows as relatively predictable as The Bachelor, viewers can return to a fan favourite they haven't seen in years. And the way we're seeing it, Ben Higgins's appearances on The Bachelor Winter Games and The Bachelor could mean roses in his future, especially because at this point, he may actually be up for it.
