These Are the GLOW Season 2 Details You Need to Know

GLOW has a sprawling cast of characters that we instantly fell in love with. Again, Netflix hasn't made an official announcement yet, but photos from the set indicate that almost everyone is coming back. The list of actors you can expect to see in season two includes Alison Brie, Betty Gilpin, Marc Maron, Kia Stevens, Sydelle Noel, Kate Nash, Britt Baron, Britney Young, Gayle Rankin, Ellen Wong, Marianna Palka, Sunita Mani, Rebekka Johnson, Kimmy Gatewood, and Chris Lowell, who will be sporting an impressive mustache.

Sorry, guys, but that superchill baby from season one has been recast, because Debbie's little boy Randy is going to be a bit older this season. The role of Randy will now be played by twins Kyler and Kaleb. In a TVLine interview, Gilpin talked up her pint-size costars, promising, "They're amazing. They're nuanced and bringing a fresh new energy to things we do."

Details on season two's plot are being kept quiet for now, but Brie did spill a few secrets about what's ahead for Ruth in a November interview with HelloGiggles. The actor promised that Ruth and the rest of the women will be far more competitive in the new season. Now that the show within the show is actually filming, the women will be jockeying for time in the ring — and given Ruth's drive to succeed, you can bet that she'll be doing whatever it takes to make sure her wrestling character succeeds.

Meanwhile, things are far from back to normal for Ruth and Debbie. Just because they came together for that big fight in the season finale that doesn't mean their friendship is back on track. Gilpin told TVLine, "In season one, it's almost easy for them to compartmentalize their friendship and explain away why they have to be together, because of this wrestling show. It's the perfect excuse for them to be physically near each other, because they really love each other. That becomes harder and harder as time goes on, when they never really had the conversation of 'Hey, you did this to me. Apologize,' or Ruth never got to say, 'These are the ways in which I felt mistreated by you as a friend' . . . It's getting harder and harder for them to ignore."

The drama for these two friends is far from over.

In addition to dealing with being in such close proximity to Ruth, Debbie will also be focusing on new ways to get what she needs creatively out of working on GLOW. And that may mean stepping behind the fictional camera, according to Gilpin. That's right — Debbie is going to be getting involved with the behind-the-scenes aspect of the show, which opens up all kinds of new avenues for the working mom.

The addition of Justine's mom is almost certainly leading to an intriguing story about the family dynamics between Sam, Justine, and Rosalie. Seeing Sam deal with having a daughter he never knew about and having his ex back in the picture should give Maron some meaty material to deal with.

Meanwhile, the wrestlers will be competing for airtime, which is sure to lead to all kinds of conflict and maybe even a bit of backstage sabotage. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Gilpin promised that Debbie will be gunning for Tammé as she tries to reclaim her crown. However, Tammé won't be going down without a fight. Their rivalry will feed into the larger narrative of season two, which will dive into the reality of filming the show within the show and how GLOW's success changes the characters.
