Stars are turning up the glamour level at this year's Venice Film Festival. The event, which kicked off on 30 Aug. and runs through to 9 Sept., has seen everyone from Adam Driver and Jessica Chastain to Sadie Sink and Kerry Washington enjoying oceanside views and beaming under the Italian sunshine.

A few couples have also stepped out together at various events during the festival this year, including George and Amal Clooney and Taika Waititi and Rita Ora. Additionally, "Euphoria" stars Sydney Sweeney and Maude Apatow were spotted on the red carpet together, and "Riverdale" stars Lili Reinhart and Camila Mendes were also seen out and about amid the festivities — all dressed to the nines, of course.

Meanwhile, on 4 Sept., Priscilla Presley, Cailee Spaeny, and Jacob Elordi all hit the red carpet to promote their movie "Priscilla," which is based on Presley's own memoir. Other highly anticipated projects that have premiered at the festival include Bradley Cooper's "Maestro" and Emma Stone's "Poor Things," though neither Cooper nor Stone were in attendance this year. Fortunately, plenty of other celebrities have shown up ready to sparkle, and many seem to be showing off unusually daring looks this year.

Why Are Stars Attending the Venice Film Festival During the Actors' Strike?

In the buildup to the festival, some questions were raised about whether actors would even attend this year given the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, which largely prevents actors from promoting their projects in any way. However, in a 27 Aug. statement on its website, SAG-AFTRA clarified that some exceptions have been made to the strike's rule thanks to an interim agreement that's currently in place.

"To be crystal clear, once an agreement is in place, we fully encourage all of our SAG-AFTRA members to work under that agreement AND to promote work made under that agreement. The more projects that get made with the Interim Agreement, the weaker the AMPTP becomes," the statement read. "So, let's lift up our fellow performers who are out there working . . . If the rights to distribute some of these projects made with the Interim Agreement are eventually acquired, it will be all to the good," it concluded. "A slate of projects with Interim Agreements is a slate of productions that yield to our deal."
